The stops of the Chifän are very powerful, which can cause minor earthquakes if the Chifän is not careful. Having multiple Chifäns is grounds for destruction, which is exactly what happened. Many years ago, during the time of the Silk Lands, dozens of Chifäns came together as an innocent hangout. However, as they started stomping about, the combined power of their stomps caused a catasrophic earthquake, causing the Silk Lands to split apart, with part of it sinking underground. Scared to cause another event like this, the Chifäns are learning how to sing, although not very successfully.
